Our Approach

Rituals, not requirements

Child planning their time with a checklist outdoors

Time planning

Daily and weekly ritual

Children develop skills for planning how they'll use their time on daily, weekly, and quarterly scales. They learn to set meaningful goals and review their progress, supported by regular check-ins with our head facilitator.

Curating a portfolio

Weekly ritual

Children curate portfolios that reflect their learning journey. Guiding questions help them think about what's been meaningful—what challenged them, where they grew. Portfolios are presented in semesterly meetings with parents.

Exhibitions

Quarterly

Children work on interdisciplinary projects for exhibitions of learning, which occur several times a year. These are presentations where they get to showcase their work and process to parents, peers, and community members. The exhibitions give shape to the weeks of learning: students are working towards something real, synthesizing what they learn into something they can share.
